California

We went on a road trip to CA over the weekend. It was a pretty quick trip and we certainly didn't have enough time to see everyone we wanted to. Hopefully we can see more people next time we are down. We mostly visited with Jeremy's side of the family. (Although I didn't get pictures with everyone!!)

Joshua had a blast running up and down the stairs at grandma's house. We had to always watch him and follow him up and down since he's a little clumsy on the stairs still.

He loved playing the piano. Auntie Kimberly helped him out. He was so delicate with the keys. Carefully pressing one at a time instead of banging on them.

We went to the Aquarium. Joshua seemed to really like the fish. But the poor guy was exhausted from all of the visiting and conked out on Grandpa's shoulder during the last exhibit. We transfered him to the stroller and he slept for a good while.

Joshua also got to go "swimming" for the first time. He pretty much just clung to us the entire time but seemed to really enjoy being in the water.

What?

Joshua is so funny. He emptied out his basket full of books to be able to sit and read in it. I think I interrupted him by taking this photo. Looks like he's thinking, "What? Can't a boy read in peace?"

4th of July

Joshua goes to bed pretty early so we didn't go to any big firework displays this year. It doesn't even get dark here until pretty late. But, he watched with fascination as we lit a few small fireworks before dark. We had to hold him because he wanted to run over and touch everything. He's such a curious little guy! :)

This cracks me up. I have this little "chair" as a decoration in the kitchen. Well, Joshua loves to take it down and push it around. This is the first time he actually tried to sit on it. It's way too small for him and is meant for decoration only. Of course, he doesn't care!! :)

Joshua has been spending a lot more time with some of his animal friends lately. He'll carry them around and he usually picks a few out to take to bed with him. These are some of his favorites during the past couple of weeks.

Watermelon

He absolutely LOVES watermelon!!
What else is there to say? He'll shove his mouth full of it as the juice is dripping down everywhere. He's almost giddy when eating it!! :)

Pictures

Joshua loves looking at pictures. In this photo, he's looking at a scrapbook about our pets. He gets so excited when he looks at pictures of the people and pets he knows. It's really cute! (But I am biased!!)

Cartoons and milk

These are two things Joshua loves. Here he is bright and early one morning drinking some milk and enjoying his cartoons. He is so funny. I love how he'll just kick back on his little couch and hang out for a few minutes. Of course, it doesn't last long before he's up and running around again. He has so much energy!!

Adonica and Doug

Adonica and Doug have been here for the past few days visiting on their way back home. It's been almost a year since we've seen them and the visit was great! Joshua warmed up pretty quickly and was soon begging Adonica to hold him often. Sometimes it was just a means to get up onto something and other times he just wanted to visit.

Since they have been here, he has learned how to climb up onto chairs and does it every chance he gets. He looks like a little boy sitting at the table in the chair instead of like my baby. :(

Ribs

We had ribs at Eric and Michelle's house and Joshua couldn't get enough of this rib bone. He really couldn't eat much meat since he still doesn't have many teeth, but he sure enjoyed chewing on the meaty bone.
