Card sketch and a prize!!

My new Thursday card sketch is up over at the Feeling Scrappy message board. I'll post it here this week as well. Everyone who completes this week's card sketch by the time the next one is posted (next Thursday) will be entered to win a couple of Grungeboard shapes to play with! Have you tried any of this chipboard yet? It's really cool! Super strong and flexible. And it has a great texture on it.

So to be entered all you have to do is use this sketch and upload your card to the card challenge thread on the FS board. I hope you play along!!!

New card sketch

What do you mean it's not Thursday today??! Ok, so I forgot to post my Thursday card challenge on the Feeling Scrappy message board. But I posted it this morning so I hope you will check it out. I still need to make mine, but I have the sketch made and posted at least. LOL Go check it out, make a card and post your results on the board so we can all ooh and ahh over it. :)

Also, I started a new blog where I will just keep my sketches. It's pretty plain right now but it does have some of the older sketches I have created. Here's the link- Sketches
Hopefully I will remember to add new ones. LOL. I don't have any card sketches up there...just page sketches. If you have any suggestions for the site, let me know!

Playtime

Joshua loves music, dancing and making music. He was getting into playing this little recorder and had a blast.

Abby loves the toys on her exersaucer...I need to work on getting a better photo.

Color

Just a few colorful things in my scrappy room. (The crayons are Joshua's. ;) )

Member of the Month Challenge and a sketch

Feeling Scrappy's member of the month, Peggy, had a fun menu challenge for us to complete. We had to pick the foods we wanted then she sent us a message with the recipe for a layout. I had to use a quote, 3-4 pictures, flowers and brads and a monochromatic color scheme. So here's my layout. Thanks Peggy! It was fun!

I used a sketch I created this morning from a Christmas layout I made last year. Hope you like it!

Joshua and his cars

I don't know how long his car obsession is going to last. But he plays with them every day all day. He sleeps with them and takes them everywhere. There are a few core ones that remain by his side but he also changes up his favorites from time to time.

New layout!

I have created quite a few layouts over the past few weeks but most of them have been reserved for the paint class at Feeling Scrappy so I can't share them just yet. Sooooo, I decided to make a page that I COULD share last night. I have been loving all the white space I see on other people's layouts so I thought I'd give it a try and I like it! I used Bazzill bling paper (I think that's what it's called?!), CTMH paper, a CTMH stamp, CTMH brads, CTMH die cuts, Distress ink, Primas and other flowers (AC maybe?), journaling paper, and Pebbles Inc letter stickers. I think that's everything.

I hope you like it! I have a couple new sketches coming soon, too!!
Edited to add a sketch of this layout just for fun. :)

Inspiration and new goodies

Colleen posted about this Inspiration Station idea she saw here. I love the idea but changed it a little to work for me. I cleared off my work area and added a magnet board to put ideas and things to inspire me. I added a basket to stash my newest goodies and things I've been wanting to use. I moved my new scrappy calendar and a couple of magazines to the area, too. I'm hoping this change will give me some inspirationa as I scrap and craft. Here's how it looks now (but it won't stay neat for long!! LOL)

And here are some of the scrappy goodies I got in the mail this week. I finally got my area organized and cleaned up so i am going to try some of it out very soon!!

And one last thing-I just finished up altering these items I was about to toss out. I used the clear packaging to make the window on the top of the box. Not really sure what to do with it yet, but it was fun to make after not doing much in teh craft department for awhile. :)

Thanks Tricia!

Tricia from Paper popsicles totally made my day with the "You Made My Day" Award. Such a fun idea and I can't wait to share a few blogs that I love and am inspired by!

Here's the deal-
"Give the award to up to 10 people whose blogs bring you happiness and inspiration and make you feel so happy about blogland! Let them know by posting a comment on their blog so that they can pass it on. Beware! You may get the award several times!"

So, I have a ton of blogs on my Google Reader, but I can only pick 10...so tough!! I love so many more than that. But here we go (in no particular order!!)

Michelle- http://michelle-scrappingfool.blogspot.com/
Denise-http://www.xanga.com/Scrapinfamily
Colleen-http://scrappingranny-colleen.blogspot.com/
Origin-http://originscraps.blogspot.com/
Shaina- http://just-because-i-am-me.blogspot.com/
Jayne-http://feelinscrappy.blogspot.com/
Andrea-http://throughthescrapdoor.blogspot.com/
Lisa-http://cutcreateandcare.blogspot.com/
Robin-http://tqmnurse.blogspot.com/
Stacey-http://currychaos.blogspot.com/

Whew...that's 10. Thanks for being inspirational to me in so many ways!! Can you feel the love? :)

Pictures

This is for Suzanne's weekly blog challenge that I am already behind on. She challegned us to...
"Look at the wall hangings on your walls. (family portraits excluded) Post a photo of your favorite one and write about it on your blog. Where did you get it? Why do you love it?"

So, we don't have very many wall hangings other than photos (A few...but I thought this would be more interesting than any of the others in the house). I just either 1. can't decide what sort of pictures to buy or 2. Don't want to spend big bucks on them. Anyway, this was the first wall hanging we actually bought together when we first got married. It is from IKEA as was much of the furniture we started with in our apartment in California. It was colorful and inexpensive...the two main reasons we bought it. When we moved into our house, Jeremy didn't really want to keep it. But I like it and I think it goes where it is nicely (in our kitchen). It's obviously still here so guess who won that arguement? LOL (Just kidding, honey!)

Rice cereal and pastrami pizza

Abby has decided she does a better job feeding herself rice cereal than we do.

Yum-Oh! We love to make homemade pizza and this is one of those specialty ones we make every so often. It's been awhile but it sounded good. There was a pizza place back in California that offered this combo. I know, it sounds strange-but it's really very yummy. Pastrami, pickles and mustard (and sauce and cheese). :)

Card challenges

I know you are tired of hearing me tell you about these, but they really are a lot of fun. I host a weekly card challenge on the Feeling Scrappy message board. I post a new one every Thursday. I love seeing how talented everyone is and how different all the cards turn out. I thought I'd share a past challenge here with you. If you use it, I'd love to hear (and even see it!!).

How to emboss (and two RAK winners!)

Ok, I finally got around to making a short little video. I think I sound goofy but here I am anyhow. :) Congrats Michelle and Robin-I picked something both of you suggested-embossing. Please email your addresses to me (I think there's a link to send me an email somewhere here on my blog.) This is a super simple how-to video but hopefully it will help SOMEONE out there.
