My Birthday

Today was my bday so we all went out to dinner. We got some cute pics of everyone while we were there. Joshua practiced for his big day tomorrow (he turns TWO tomorrow!!!!) by helping me blow out the candle on my dessert. He's so funny. I can't believe the amount of Mexican food this kid can put down! He completely clears his kid's meal plate! Guess it was all that Lupitas (the Mexican restaurant where we went) I ate while I was pregnant with him!!

Grandma L came for a quick visit this weekend. Joshua had a great time with her. He laughed and laughed and played and then finally was ready to crash for bedtime. Here, he's showing off his counting skills (trust me, he needs a lot of work, but he tries!! :) )

Joshua loves to fly his kite and we all went outside (since it was so nice!!) to fly it. He really wants to hold it by himself, but it wouldn't last long if he did!!

Before we left for Salt Lake a couple of weeks ago, we had Jer's dad take a group picture of us. The last one I had was from last summer!!! So anyway, here we are!! :) Joshua's being goofy. We were lucky to get him to sit still for a minute!!!

Joshua had a MOP on his head. Jeremy bought some clippers and decided to cut it himself. We set up the dvd player with Nemo to keep him still. It worked pretty well, but he got antsy toward the end and finally decided enough was enough. Here's the before and after.

The weather has been beautiful here the past few days. Jeremy decided to finish the last bit of landscaping in the front yard today. He ordered rocks and rented a Bobcat. I helped lay out the black tarp (no weed stuff) underneath and Joshua played with his toys. I can't believe he hasn't passed out from so much fun and sun. I'm sure he'll sleep well tonight. The only time Joshua took a break was when he ate a popscicle.

Leave it to Joshua to find a way to play with my scrapbooking supplies with his cars. He decided my new curvy cutter was a great race track. Maybe.

Joshua is going to be an awesome big brother!

I think most of you know that we are expecting a little one in July. We just found out that Joshua is having a little sister! I know he's going to be a great big brother and I can't wait to see them grow up together. While I was having the ultrasound and we were watching our little girl on the big screen, Joshua was leaning over the table rubbing my head and shoulder!! It was the cutest little thing. I know he's going to adore his sister!

For some reason, I just haven't taken very many pictures lately. I need to start pulling out the camera more often. Anyway, here's a picture of my boys last night munching on popcorn. This was the first time we let Joshua have any popcorn and it made me really nervous!!! But he did really well-tried to eat only one piece at a time (I say tried because we'd catch him trying to sneak a handful!!!) and chewed it up well.

We celebrated grandma D's birthday last week with homemade pizza and a big salad. (Yum!!!) Here's Joshua getting some hugs before dinner.

I moved Joshua's dishes to a drawer that he could easily access so he could learn to start helping. He loves picking out his own bowl or plate and silverware.
