Grandpa L. drove out here to stay for a couple of days. Joshua got to play and hang out quite a bit with him. Lots of grandpa time! He calls both grandpas "Gah." (In person and when he sees their photos.)

Zoe

Zoe lives across the street. She's at least a year older than Joshua (maybe more). She randomly shows up at our door often. We have this new storm screen door now so Joshua can see out. He had his lips on the door trying to give her kisses. It was so funny. As soon as she saw my camera, she started to take off so I missed their "moment."

First Hair "Cut"

BEFORE(above)

Joshua's hair has been a bit shaggy for awhile. In his eyes, over his ears, etc. I wasn't ready for him to have a big boy hair appt. at the barber shop so I trimmed it myself. Just the necessities!! :) Well, it's not the best, and it's a little crooked, but I guess it'll do for now. Until I'm ready for him to grow up and need a real haircut!! :)

County Fair

We took Joshua to the County Fair on Saturday. He had a few firsts and seemed to enjoy it. The weather was awful so we didn't stay very long. It was windy and rainy! Anyway, the first thing Joshua got to do was look at the animals in the petting zoo. He briefly touched a goat but just looked at everything else from a distance.

Then, he rode on a little train. We all thought he'd freak out and try to get out, but he didn't. He LOVED it!! He held on to the steering wheel and let the wind whip through his hair. It was really cute. After the train, we bought some delicious mini donuts-he could've eaten them all (well, so could I...but anyway). He also rode on the merry-go-round. I stood next to him to steady him on the horse. He liked it at first but then tried to get off of it. I ended up holding him for part of it. Joshua tried cotton candy for the first time and didn't like it. Lastly, he won his first carnival game. He had to choose a duck out of the "river" and the bottom of it said what he won. His
prize was a little red fish that he promptly put into the river with the ducks. It was pretty funny. It was cold and windy so we left to go out to dinner. Next year, he should be able to do a lot more.

Joshua and G-man (Grant!!)

Last weekend, my good friend Melanie and her 2 year old, Grant (affectionately known as G-man and the Grantster), came to visit. Melanie and I tried to scrapbook as much as we could while the boys played. They got along great and both learned something from the other. Joshua learned Grant's "happy dance" and Grant learned...something. I forget!! I think Melanie said he started marching like Joshua (well, probably much better since he's older!!). I didn't get very many pictures so I need to wait to get them from Melanie to share some better ones. But here's what I have for now. :)

Hanging out

This was the first time Dianne brought Angelica over during our scrapbooking get togethers. She and Joshua got along really well and had a lot of fun. She "read" a book to him a couple of times and he LOVED it. They chased each other all around the room, laughing out loud. It was really cute.

California

We went on a road trip to CA over the weekend. It was a pretty quick trip and we certainly didn't have enough time to see everyone we wanted to. Hopefully we can see more people next time we are down. We mostly visited with Jeremy's side of the family. (Although I didn't get pictures with everyone!!)

Joshua had a blast running up and down the stairs at grandma's house. We had to always watch him and follow him up and down since he's a little clumsy on the stairs still.

He loved playing the piano. Auntie Kimberly helped him out. He was so delicate with the keys. Carefully pressing one at a time instead of banging on them.

We went to the Aquarium. Joshua seemed to really like the fish. But the poor guy was exhausted from all of the visiting and conked out on Grandpa's shoulder during the last exhibit. We transfered him to the stroller and he slept for a good while.

Joshua also got to go "swimming" for the first time. He pretty much just clung to us the entire time but seemed to really enjoy being in the water.

What?

Joshua is so funny. He emptied out his basket full of books to be able to sit and read in it. I think I interrupted him by taking this photo. Looks like he's thinking, "What? Can't a boy read in peace?"

4th of July

Joshua goes to bed pretty early so we didn't go to any big firework displays this year. It doesn't even get dark here until pretty late. But, he watched with fascination as we lit a few small fireworks before dark. We had to hold him because he wanted to run over and touch everything. He's such a curious little guy! :)
