New arrival!

Abigail is here! She was born on Monday at 7:44 am. She was 8 lbs 6 oz. and 19 inches long. Here's a close up I took today during one of her very short awake moments and a picture of our new family as we were about to leave the hospital.

Here's another layout I finished tonight. I'd better get to bed!! It's late!! Anyway, this one is for the monthly contest over at Feeling Scrappy. It had to be something related to Hot! Hot! Hot! I was lucky to have these pics because I stay inside in the AC most of the time!! LOL

8 Random Facts

Jayne tagged me to complete a post of 8 random facts. Since I’m procrastinating paying bills, I’ll play! LOL.

Here are my facts:
1. The first concert I went to was Depeche Mode in high school.
2. My “dream” car in high school was a VW rabbit convertible (got one for by 18th bday).
3. I met my DH through a mutual friend on my first day living away at college. This same friend later tried to tell me I shouldn't date him because he needed to focus on his schoolwork. (We think she just had a crush on him!!! :)
4. I love country music but my hubby doesn’t. I "decided" to switch to country during my sophomore year in college because I was bored of the alternative music coming out at the time!! Seriously. :) Now country's most of what I listen to.
5. I have a major sweet tooth!! (Hmmm…milk and cookies would be good right now! Or a popsicle. Or.....???? LoL)
6. My fave football team is the Philadelphia Eagles (a totally random team I picked about five years ago because everyone in my family had a team but me!)
7. I stress over everything. (Like, are these good enough facts or do I need to keep adding more info to make them interesting??? Maybe I should delete them all and start over! Ok, but then I wouldn't ever get those bills paid that are sitting next to me!)
8. I am a germ freak. I carry those little wipes everywhere. People probably think I’m crazy and I’m probably creating super viruses but they make me feel better about touching things in public. Poor Joshua just expects to be wiped down now.

And I’m not going to tag anyone since about every person I know who has a blog has already done this!! But if you HAVEN’T, I’ll officially TAG you!! It’s on the honor system!! :wink:

Completed this one yesterday for the monthly contest at Feeling Scrappy. We had to complete a celebration layout. I only had a couple of days left to do it!! Nothing like waiting until the last minute, right? :lol: Hopefully I'll get the next one done quicker. :) Tried out a new idea I saw in a magazine on this one. I adhered little strips of paper to the front of chipboard letters then trimmed around them.

2. At least three pictures and 3. patterned paper from at least two different manufacturers. I had never realized before how much I tend to stick to the same manufacturer when choosing paper for a page!! I loved, LOVED these sketches and I plan to use more of them. Hope you like them, too!!!

We had a lot of fun and a busy day on the 4th of July. The day started off at the parade. Then we went to our little town's celebration in the park for a car show, some great BBQ and yummy Hawaiian Ice. We played in a little pool while Joshua napped (he got to "swim" later!) and then went to my parent's house for dinner and chatting. Last, but not least, we watched fireworks from our front yard. It was a great (but long!) day. It was wonderful to have lots of family around. Here are some highlights-

I created this layout for a contest over at The Scrapbook Site called, "So you think you can scrap?" We had to use old supplies, pictures and techniques on it. It was definitely a challenge but a lot of fun, too. I'll be using this layout for the title page of a new scrapbook I'm starting called The Book of Us.
